George Washington

George Washington's family and the Woodford family are  connected by the marriage of Ursula Woodford (c1519-c1597 or 1599) to Walter Light (1520-1597) of Radley, Warwickshire in about 1546.

Their daughter, Elizabeth Light, married Robert Washington who was the great x 4 grandfather of George Washington.   Robert Washington was the grandson of Thomas Woodford of Brightwell, Bucks.
